Hiking in the Rain

Philip got us lost for a few moments and we got our pictures taken by a hidden camera :).

Anita, remember hearing your Turkish language/chef instructor and her Spanish friend repetitively saying "fogged up" and laughing? Good times...
Here's the spectacular view!!
Philip wishing Betsy were there with him again...

This past Sunday morning after I'd just returned from work, Philip and I decided to have church on the mountaintop. We headed to the very top of the first mountain on 33 after stopping at Hinton market for orange juices. We sang along with a very bluegrass-y version of "we've got power in the blood, pow-er in the blood" on the way. We looked at the weather forecast on the internet before leaving the house and it was calling for rain and possible afternoon thunderstorms. We decided to chance it. It rained the entire hike and the summit provided no view at all. Philip estimated the hike at 15 minutes one way...which ended up being 40 minutes (he was with Betsy the first time...go figure!!) . We laughed a lot and sang and took goofy pictures. On the way home we listened to some passages from Mark that randomly skipped from Jesus asking the pharisees about the authority of John's baptism to the baptism of Jesus by John. Fascinating. We wrapped up with Love Song from Third Day. We arrived home cold, soaked, and very ready for Sunday afternoon naps.
